Spoilt Summer Brat

Spoilt Summer Brat

Yes indeed I am.  You see, all the above items are things that I have bought or have been bought for me in recent weeks.  I own them and they are in my possession!  I have been meaning to do a post about all the pretty things I have acquired recently but I knew I would never get around to photographing it all so I went online and made some sets instead.  This one turned out to be particularly sunshiney and upbeat.  A combination of good sales, excellent money off codes, several opportunities to browse duty free and the overwhelming generosity of my beloved Mister has meant that I have been one very lucky girl on the gift front.  I generally try not to put too much store in possessions and I continually fight a quiet battle with myself against materialism but damn it I do love the pretty, and of course expressions of love and affection are always appreciated.

I haven't actually worn the dress yet but I'm pretty sure an opportunity will lend itself in the not too distant future.  I have worn the perfume though.  All 3 of them.  Vera Wang Princess is an old favourite of mine but I was new to Viktor & Rolf.  All I will say is that if, like me, you like sweeties, ice cream and flowers you will love these fragrances.  Bonbon is probably my current favourite. The strawberry clutch and popcorn crossbody I have added to my ever growing collection of novelty bags about which I have also been meaning to post.  Maybe I will soon.

I am trying valiantly to stay positive about the summer.  It is certainly not my favourite time of year and traditionally for me is something to be endured rather than enjoyed.  Well, today in the UK, temperatures have hit 30 degrees and I have to say it's really doing nothing for me.  As I type this is it 28 degrees here in Liverpool.  It is also overcast and muggy with the odd spot of rain.  It is oppressively hot.  I am currently sitting as still as I can with a electric fan blowing directly at me at full strength but I still feel like I am in a fan oven.  Not moving isn't an option for very long when you have a spirited 16 month old running around and climbing the furniture.

Summer, I am valiantly plowing through but you are not endearing yourself.  Please try harder!

  1. Ugh, oh dear on the weather front. At least we had a leetle bit of a breeze down in London today, but everyone was getting very short-tempered all the same! (I don't love the extreme heat either, it exacarbates my chronic fatigue, blagh).

Lovely summery montage, though, makes me think of funfairs by the sea!

  2. I feel your pain. Yesterday was sports day and I already had a headache so spending 2+ hours on a baking hot field with no shade plus walking children down was sheer agony. I had to lend my hat to a kid whose mum had put no suncream on her. Came back to a roasting hot building and had to teach in it, then choir, then go and play in my husband's concert. Got home at 11 finally.
Love love love your items. They are all so pretty and cool. X
